Working with a partnership of the US Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth Parks Department, the Tarrant Regional Water District and the City of Benbrook, Streams and Valleys is researching the feasibility of a trail connecting the existing Clear Fork extension to Memorial Oak Park through Pecan Valley Park and the Benbrook YMCA. Funding will originate from Streams and Valleys, the US Army Corps of Engineers, Trinity River Vision bond funds, and a Neighborhood Park Development Grant.

Currently cyclists must leave the trail system and enter Winscott Road. The trail will provide a complete off-road system with lighted and signed street crossings. Crossing a vast plain of wildflowers will entice trail users with an experience unlike anywhere else along the system. Still in the conceptual stage, the Pecan Valley Trail will seek input from the community prior to final design.
