Trinity Uptown™ Exhibit Moves to Central Library
Last Day at Community Arts Center is July 9
FORT WORTH, Texas – An exhibit on Trinity Uptown™ will leave the Community Arts Center at the end of this week, where it has been on display since December 2004, and move to a new home at the Fort Worth Central Library, where it will remain on display until the end of 2005.
Trinity Uptown is the proposed new 800-acre development area north of downtown Fort Worth that will be possible to new flood protection measures under consideration by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A 9’-square model depicting the architects’ vision of the completed project is included in the exhibit, along with a pictorial history of flood events and the Trinity River Vision in that part of Fort Worth.
Originally scheduled to be on display at the Community Arts Center only until May of this year, the exhibit was continued until July due to public demand. “Because so many people were coming to see the exhibit each week, we were able to arrange a continuation at the Community Arts Center,” said James Toal, urban designer with the architectural firm of Gideon Toal, one of the lead designers of Trinity Uptown. "By moving it to the Central Library, even more people will have an opportunity to view the exhibit during the evenings and on weekends."
The last day the exhibit will be at the Community Arts Center is Saturday, July 9, after which the exhibit will be packed and moved to the library and reopened on Saturday, July 16..
The Fort Worth Community Arts Center is at 1300 Gendy Street in the Cultural District. It is open Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm, and Saturday from 10 to 5 pm.
The Fort Worth Central Library is at 500 W. Third, and is open Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 9 pm; Friday and Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm; and Sunday from noon to 6 pm.
There is no charge to attend the exhibit at either location. |
